Introduction
Effective Date: January 2025
CodeVoice is a platform for generating AI voice output through a web dashboard, API workflows, and related service features. By accessing or using CodeVoice, you agree to these terms and policies in full.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and CodeVoice ("we", "us", or "our"). If you are using CodeVoice on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing the platform, or using any CodeVoice services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CodeVoice. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
User Accounts & Responsibilities
Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing:
- Valid email address
- Secure password
- Accurate account information
Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and API keys
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
- Using strong, unique passwords and enabling two-factor authentication when available
Account Information
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Update your information promptly when it changes
- Not impersonate others or provide false information
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
Account Sharing
Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Allow others to access your account
- Transfer or sell your account
- Use another person's account without permission
Account Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination:
- Your access to the service will be revoked
- Unused paid credits may be refunded (see Billing Policy)
- Your data will be deleted within 90 days
- Generated audio files will be immediately deleted
Credits & Billing Policy
CodeVoice uses a credit-based billing model to track usage across speech generation features and account plans.
Credit System Overview
- Free users receive 60 credits/month, which reset on the first day of each month
- Paid credits do not expire and remain available until used
- Credits are consumed in order: free credits first, then paid credits
- 1 credit = 1 TTS generation or 1 STT transcription request

Pricing & Purchases
Credit packages are available for purchase at any time:
- Payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers
- All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified
- Applicable taxes will be added at checkout
- Credits are added to your account immediately upon successful payment
Refund Policy
Our refund policy is as follows:
- Unused Credits: Refunds may be requested within 14 days of purchase for unused credit packages
- Used Credits: No refunds for credits that have been consumed
- Service Issues: Refunds or credit compensation may be provided for service outages or technical failures
- Subscription Cancellations: Unused time on subscriptions may be refunded on a pro-rata basis
Billing Disputes
If you believe you've been charged incorrectly:
- Contact billing@codevoice.ai within 30 days of the charge
- Provide transaction details and explanation of the dispute
- We will investigate and respond within 5-7 business days
Account Suspension for Non-Payment
For subscription-based accounts, failure to pay may result in:
- Service suspension after 7 days of non-payment
- Account termination after 30 days of non-payment
- Loss of unused credits and account data
Acceptable Usage Policy
You may not use CodeVoice to generate or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, or misleading content. This policy protects users, the platform, and the broader community.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Illegal Content: Generating content that violates local, national, or international laws
- Harmful Content: Creating content that promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal activities
- Harassment: Using the service to harass, threaten, or intimidate individuals or groups
- Impersonation: Creating voice content that impersonates real individuals without consent
- Fraud & Scams: Generating content for fraudulent purposes, phishing, or financial scams
- Misinformation: Creating deliberately false or misleading content, especially related to elections, health, or emergencies
- Adult Content: Generating sexually explicit or pornographic audio content
- Hate Speech: Creating content that promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Copyright Infringement: Generating content that violates intellectual property rights
- Spam & Abuse: Using the service for spam, unsolicited marketing, or system abuse
Responsible AI Usage
When using CodeVoice's AI voice generation capabilities:
- Clearly disclose when content is AI-generated where appropriate
- Obtain necessary permissions before cloning or mimicking voices
- Respect privacy and consent of individuals whose voices may be referenced
- Use the technology ethically and in accordance with applicable laws
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Warning and request to cease prohibited activity
- Temporary suspension of account or API access
- Permanent account termination
- Legal action where appropriate
- Reporting to relevant authorities for illegal activities
Voice Usage & Intellectual Property Rights
Ownership of Generated Content
You retain ownership of the text inputs you provide and the audio outputs generated through CodeVoice, subject to these terms and applicable law.
License to Use Generated Audio
Generated audio may be used according to your plan tier:
- Free Plan: Personal, non-commercial use only
- Paid Plans: Commercial use permitted within the scope of your subscription
- Enterprise Plans: Extended commercial rights as specified in your agreement
Voice Model Rights
CodeVoice retains all rights to the underlying voice models, AI technology, and platform infrastructure. You receive a license to use the service but do not acquire rights to the models themselves.
Voice Cloning & Custom Voices
When using voice cloning features (where available):
- You must have explicit consent from the voice owner or legal authority to clone their voice
- You are responsible for ensuring you have all necessary rights and permissions
- Cloned voices must not be used to impersonate, deceive, or harm others
- CodeVoice reserves the right to remove cloned voices that violate these terms
Attribution Requirements
While not always required, we encourage attribution when using CodeVoice-generated content, especially in public or commercial contexts. Example: "Voice generated using CodeVoice AI"
Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract voice models
- Use generated content to train competing AI models
- Resell or redistribute CodeVoice services without authorization
- Create derivative voice generation services based on CodeVoice
Copyright Infringement
If you believe content generated through CodeVoice infringes your copyright, please contact legal@codevoice.ai with:
- Description of the copyrighted work
- Location of the infringing content
- Your contact information
- Statement of good faith belief
- Statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
API Usage Policy
API Key Security
API keys are personal to your account and must be kept secure:
- Never share API keys publicly (GitHub, forums, client-side code)
- Store keys securely using environment variables or secret management systems
- Rotate keys immediately if compromised
- Use separate keys for development, staging, and production environments
Rate Limits & Fair Usage
To ensure service reliability for all users, the following limits apply:

- Reselling: Offering CodeVoice API access as a service without authorization
- Credential Sharing: Sharing API keys across multiple users or organizations
API Monitoring & Logging
We monitor API usage for:
- Security threat detection
- Abuse prevention
- Service optimization
- Billing accuracy
- Compliance with terms
API Availability & Changes
We strive to maintain high API availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may:
- Perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
- Make breaking changes with deprecation warnings (minimum 30 days notice)
- Add new features and endpoints
- Adjust rate limits based on system capacity
API Support
API support is provided based on your plan tier:
- Free: Community support and documentation
- Paid: Email support with 24-48 hour response time
- Enterprise: Priority support with dedicated assistance

Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted), and optional profile details
- Usage Data: API requests, text inputs, voice selections, and generation timestamps

- Payment Information: Processed securely through third-party payment providers (we do not store credit card details)
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve CodeVoice services
- Process transactions and manage your account
- Send service updates, security alerts, and support messages

- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or security threats
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Generated audio files are automatically deleted after 24 hours unless you download them. Account data is retained for 90 days after account deletion.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Service Availability & Disclaimers
Service Availability
CodeVoice is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- 100% uptime or availability
- Specific performance metrics
- Compatibility with all systems or browsers
Maintenance & Downtime
We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. Emergency maintenance may occur without notice. During maintenance:
- Services may be temporarily unavailable
- API requests may fail or be delayed
- No credits will be deducted for failed requests
Service Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service
- Change pricing, plans, or credit allocations with 30 days notice
- Update voice models and improve quality
- Add or remove voices from the catalog
- Implement new features or capabilities
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeVoice shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Third-party actions or content
- Unauthorized access to your account
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to CodeVoice in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Warranty Disclaimer
CodeVoice is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of generated content
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CodeVoice from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any rights of others
- Content you generate or distribute
Account Termination & Suspension
Termination by User
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Contacting support at support@codevoice.ai
- Following the account deletion process in your dashboard
Upon voluntary termination:
- Your access will be immediately revoked
- Unused paid credits may be eligible for refund (see Billing Policy)
- Your data will be deleted within 90 days
- You may not be able to reactivate the same account
Termination by CodeVoice
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in prohibited activities (see Acceptable Usage Policy)
- Abuse the platform or API
- Fail to pay for services
- Create security, legal, or operational risks
- Provide false or misleading information
- Engage in fraudulent activity
Suspension Process
For less severe violations, we may:
- Issue a warning and request corrective action
- Temporarily suspend account access (7-30 days)
- Restrict specific features or API access
- Require additional verification or documentation
Appeal Process
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by:
- Contacting appeals@codevoice.ai within 14 days
- Providing detailed explanation and supporting evidence
- Demonstrating corrective measures taken
We will review appeals within 5-7 business days. Our decision is final.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination (by either party):
- All licenses and rights granted to you immediately cease
- You must stop using the service and delete any downloaded content
- We may delete your account data and generated content
- Provisions that should survive termination (e.g., liability limitations, indemnification) remain in effect
- You remain liable for any outstanding payments
Changes to Terms
These terms and policies may be updated from time to time. Continued use of CodeVoice after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
